A healthy outside starts from the inside. That’s what they say. And it’s true.

Getting your skincare products and routine right is really important but, ultimately, if you’re not putting healthy superfoods into your body, your skin will suffer for it.

What are Superfoods?

Superfoods are foods — mostly plant-based but also some fish and dairy — that are thought to be nutritionally dense and thus good for one’s health. Avacado, Turmeric, Dark chocolate, and Almond are just a few examples of foods that have garnered the “superfood” label.

Superfoods contain a variety of nutrients, such as antioxidants, which are thought to ward off cancer. They also have healthy fats, thought to prevent heart disease; fiber thought to prevent diabetes and digestive problems; and phytochemicals — the chemicals in plants responsible for deep colors and smells, which can have numerous health benefits. Consuming foods that are packed with nutrients is certainly a good idea. But the key to a healthy diet is to consume a variety of nutritious foods in the right quantities.

Obviously, a healthy balanced diet is what we’re aiming for, but here are a few special additions you can make to your diet to add that little extra boost.

Orange is also a great source of Vitamin C. It improves the development of collagen, a structural part of your skin. Thus your skin looks smooth and younger. Daily consumption of orange can also keep your skin away from having wrinkles.

Known for a plethora of health benefits, turmeric also contains properties that are anti-inflammatory in nature which means that consuming it can help your body ward off inflammation. This way it can also help protect your skin and give it the glow it needs.

▪️ Dark Chocolate ?:
Craving something sweet? Indulge in some chocolate but make it dark. Dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants and flavonoids which work effectively in reducing stress levels in your body.
